Week 5 of the 2024 iRacing Season 4 is looking to be one with great variety. There will be plenty of classic tracks that you can race at and also some of the more modern ones. This will be also one with tricky conditions as many of the series will have at least some chance of rain falling. Let’s review some of the series that could be a popular one this upcoming week.
Looking at the schedule for the open wheeler championships, the always popular Super Formula and Super Formula Light will provide good racing this week. Both series will visit the Fuji Speedway, which is an amazing track to drive in open wheel cars. The Super Formula Light races will be in rain, with a 100% chance of rain falling during the race, while the other series will be in the dry.
For those who are just starting their journey in driving open wheelers, Formula 4 series is going to be racing at Okayama, which is one of the free tracks on the service. This usually means that the participation will be higher than normal in this series and there will be plenty of changes to find good races. The fixed setup races will have a slight chance of some rain showers while the open setup races will be on dry track.
If you’re interested in enjoying the absolute maximum downforce on a high speed rollercoaster ride, then we can recommend you the iRacing Grand Prix Series which will be racing at Suzuka. With its high speed corners and great flow, this is a great combination with an F1 car.
The sportscar racing fans are not left without some good racing options either this week. Possibly the most popular combination this week will be the Porsche Cup at Monza. This series always has big fields, with great racing by itself but Monza is one of the most popular circuits on the iRacing service and it’s guaranteed to drive up the participation numbers. It’s going to be 15 laps of flat out racing, with no rain expected for these races.
The GT3 Sprint series will visit Barcelona and race on the Historic layout. This is an interesting combination as the circuit is always very heavy on tire wear so it can be a great lesson for some tire saving. There’s no rain expected at these races either so if you want to push the GT3 cars to their limit on a fast track, this is your series to be in.
Those who are looking to drive the entry level GT and prototype cars, will be able to race at the Hungaroring. The multiclass Sports Car Challenge will be visiting this circuit, where you can race with GT4 and LMP3 cars. A challenging combination for multiclass racing on a very tight and twisty track. If you want to race this track in a single class format you can choose the fixed setup series for either LMP3 or GT4, where the latter will likely see some rain in the races.
The always popular IMSA series will be racing at the revamped Zolder track that was just updated a few weeks ago. With a 26% chance of rain, this looks to be a challenging combination for multiclass racing. This week, the participation might be lower than usual for the series, as the following week, iRacing will have the Petit Le Mans special event and it’s expected that many will skip this week to prepare for that event.
We wish everyone good luck for the racing this week and hope to see you on track!
