We are already at week 11 of Season 4 on iRacing in 2024. There’s still plenty of racing left this season though, so let’s see what we can look forward to this week both on open wheeler and sports car racing.

The highlights of the week are no doubt in sports car racing this time around. And those who race in the GT Sprint and the IMSA series will have a hard time deciding what to focus on this week. Those who want pure GT3 racing, will be able to race at Sebring in the GT Sprint series. If one is looking for some multiclass action, then the IMSA series will be a great choice, visiting Road America for the races this week. Both are classic and great tracks that are usually very popular on the iRacing service. There will be guaranteed big fields for both series.

If you’re looking for some multiclass racing action around Sebring, that will be also possible in the Sports Car Challenge series. The series lining up GT4 and LMP3 cars will also be visiting the circuit located in Florida. For someone looking to race in short 30 minute races, without a pitstop, this can be a great combination for the week.

For those looking to race in changeable weather conditions this week, the Touring Car Challenge can be your opportunity. Racing at the Rudskogen Motorsenter with a “slight” chance of rain, meaning that rain clouds will come and go with the possibility of short showers.

The sports car series won’t have great variance in tracks this week, but the tracks are all well known, popular tracks on the service so that high participation is almost guaranteed. On the side of open wheeler racing, the tracks are much different and those who are interested in racing these cars, will have plenty of nice options to choose from.

Usually, the most popular series of the week with open wheelers is the Super Formula Light and Super Formula series. This is expected to not change at all this week as both of these championships will visit Imola. The high downforce car will feel right at home on this fast and flowing circuit. Those who would like to race the Super Formula Light cars, will have to deal with a 55% chance of rain. This could really spice up the races in this series.

The Formula 3 series will be visiting the Mugello GP circuit. The Italian track is one of the best tracks out there for high downforce cars with a number of fast corners and some great high speed direction changes. This could be possibly the most fun ride of the week.

If you would like to drive a step slower cars, then the Formula 4 Challenge will be racing at the Zolder GP circuit. A much different style of circuit with a slower average speed as well but again a very interesting combination. The Zolder circuit has recently received a graphical overhaul from iRacing so if you haven’t raced it since then, this could be a great opportunity.

For those looking to drive F1 cars this week, the F1 World Tour and iRacing Grand Prix series will be both racing at the Algarve GP track. The Portuguese track featured in the Formula 1 calendar a few years ago and it’s always been a driver favorite. A real rollercoaster like track with plenty of elevation changes that can be a nice challenge to master!

As always, good luck for the racing and hope to see you on track!
